Amsterdam – Utrecht ERTMS implementation

Bombardier won the contract for the delivery of electronic control systems for the conventional portion and for the ERTMS level 2 portion (called Dual Signalling).

The contract for this delivery was managed by Attica. An important component was the development of the interface between the existing ProRail rail equipment and Bombardier's electronic interlocking. The linkage of ProRail's control system (VPT) to Bombardier's system was also achieved with a unique interface. In 2007, the rail line was successfully commissioned and now operates to complete satisfaction.

Amsterdam - Utrecht ERTMS Interlocking

Amsterdam Utrecht has an ERTMS level 2 interlocking system. Attica has been asked to coordinate and execute various commissioning tasks in the role of commissioning manager.

Attica's activities included the coordination with the client ProRail and the drawing up of the commissioning plan and schedule.Drawing up the commissioning tests, requests for decommissioning, leader of workplace safety, etc.

In the context of this assignment, the following commissioning activities have been carried out:

- 2018 update Generic application SR5.10

- 2019 update RBC redundancy SR5.10.2

- 2020 conversion Amsterdam-Utrecht to ASTRIS adapter

- 2020 implementation switches Amsterdam
