Reconnaissance study Kijfhoek and Zevenaar

Together with the infrastructure at Zevenaar Oost, the Kijfhoek freight yard is the last portion of the infrastructure between the Rotterdam harbours and the border that has not yet been adapted to the most recent European standards regarding the catenary power and interlocking systems.

Both Kijfhoek and Zevenaar Oost were studied, to determine the method by which the current ATB train control system can be replaced by ERTMS and how the 1500V catenary can be replaced by 25kV.
