Automatic Train Protection code table and announcement calculations
Since its construction in 1968, RET's metro network has been fully cab-signalled and the metro continuously receives the maximum allowed speed from the track equipment. Only the RandstadRail line is equipped with a different system.
The maximum speed in a section is determined by the length, the height difference between the start and end of the section and the position of the railway vehicle travelling forwards.
In order to facilitate the work carried out by Attica for RET, Attica developed tools for this purpose that make it possible to gain insight into changes to Automatic Train Protection code tables and announcements.
A number of RET assignments have already been carried out with these tools:
- Determining the impact of the deviations in the Automatic Train Protection code tables Corner Line by changing the section length between design input data and the as-built situation.
- Determining impact as a result of placing LEA signs at level crossing 'Haakweg'.
- Determining the impact of shifting Electrically Insulated welding at Alexander Station.
