Linking Schiedam Centrum to the Hoekse Lijn (2015-2017)

For the connection of the existing metro network to the extension to Hoek van Holland, an interface has been realised at the Schiedam Centrum location between the interlocking system of Alstom on Schiedam and the interlocking system of Bombardier on Schiedam Nieuwland.

The role of Attica was to specify, design, check, and commission this interface. A special thing about the solution at Schiedam was that alternative test methods were developed in SIL4-software, whereby the protection of Schiedam could be switched to the new layout with the link to the Hoekse Lijn without any software modifications. This made it possible to almost double the net test time.
