Operational Integration Hoekse Lijn
The Hoekse Lijn, formerly part of the main railway network, has been part of the Rotterdam metro network since 2019.
A special aspect is that freight traffic can continue to use part of this line and have access to the main rail network. For ProRail and RET, this has meant that both infrastructure managers have had to make a wide range of new agreements.
Attica systematically involved all parties in an analysis of the normative scenarios: a description of the interplay between people and systems used to deal with characteristic situations. In this way the new aspects of the Hoekse Lijn that were new for RET were identified and agreements were reached between ProRail and RET. Together with ProRail and RET, a wide range of desktop exercises were carried out at an early stage.
On the basis of the normative scenarios, the project organisation also carried out the tests demonstrating that all new procedures are feasible, effective and safe.
